Srinagar: Diamond Cricket Club, Haknipora Lions Club and Shining Star Pampore Saturday won their respective fixtures to progress further in Shaheed Aga Syed Mehdi Memorial Cricket Tournament played at Budgam Stadium.
Haknipora Lions beat Jehma Risers by 39 runs in the first game of the day. Batting first Haknipora Lions posted a decent score of 158 in the stipulated 20 overs. Rafiq was the star with the bat for the Lions making a solid 51. Jehma Risers didn’t get closer to the chase getting bundled out for 129. Rafiq took two wickets for the winning side. Rafiq was given man of the match award.
In the second game of the day, Shining Star Pampore best KCC Bemina by 27 runs. Batting first, Shining Star Pampore made 120 in the allotted 20 overs and in reply KCC were all out for 93 in the 19th over. Ajaz Ahmad for Shining Star Pampore was given man of the match for scoring 18 runs and taking two wickets.
The last fixture of the day saw Diamond Cricket Club Nadirgund beat Sajad XI. Batting first Sajad XI made a total of 133 in the allotted 20 overs which was overhauled by DCC in the 17th over. Sajad was declared man of the match for scoring 54.c
