SRINAGAR : Scores of farmers protests against the shortage of fertilizers in the market under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Sabha at press enclave today on Monday in Srinagar.
The protesting farmers said that they are facing acute shortage of fertilizers particularly in North Kashmir. The farmers were protesting under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Sabha.
The sudden shortage of fertilizers in the month of March, which is an essential farming period, has taken a heavy toll on the farmers, they said.
Earlier the fertilizer companies would directly supply the fertilizers to the market. However, since the railway authorities have given the contract to a railway out agency the fertilizers are not able to reach the market in time, they said.
