Srinagar: Body of a 32-year-old man, who was hit with bullet in last year’s unrest and booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) during 2010 agitation was found dead in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Saturday.
The body of Shahnawaz Ahmed Khan S/O Ghulam Rasool Khan was lying in an open field near Supernaghama in Qaziabad, Kralgund area of Handwara. The body had visible marks of injury.
Soon after getting the information about the body lying in the area, a police officer told news agency GNS that a team was rushed and took it in custody for postmortem and other legal medico formalities.
He said that inquest proceedings have been launched to ascertain the incident
Meanwhile, a close relative of the deceased man told GNS that Khan in last year’s unrest had received a bullet injury in his left leg and was undergoing treatment at SKIMS Soura for two months.
Khan, a tractor driver by profession was also slapped PSA during 2010 unrest, the relative added. (GNS)
