Traffic will remain shut on the Kashmir highway wednesday also, said a traffic police official.
He said traffic on the highway was closed Tuesdsay due to major landslides during the night intervening February 27 and 28 at Mehar nullah Ramban.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for the maintenance of the highway, has already put into service sophisticated machines to put through the traffic.
However, fresh intermittent rain overnight and forecast for further wet weather during the next 48 hours, there is a threat of more landslides and shooting stones.
No vehicle will be allowed from Srinagar or Jammu till a green signal is received from BRO and traffic police personnel posted at several places on the highway.
