‘Home Ministry Report Interference In Muslim Matters’

SRINAGAR: Jama’at-e-Islami (JeI) Jammu and Kashmir on Monday vehemently denounced the suggestions made in the report submitted by the Ministry of Home Affairs (GoI) regarding controlling the Masajid (Mosques) and Madaris (Religious Seminaries).

Jama’at, J&K’s largest socio-economic-politico religious organization, termed it as “direct interference” in the religious matters of Muslims in Kashmir which also amounts to the blatant violation of the human fundamental right of religious freedom.

“These suggestions are in no way acceptable and as such are out rightly rejected,” JeI said in a statement.

“Islam is the synonym of the human nature which in no circumstances can be altered. In the same way the religion of Islam is unchangeable. Islam provides perfect balance, peace & tranquillity, justice & equality and solace for the entire humanity which has been revealed by the Master and Creator of this universe for the right guidance of the entire humanity. If the human race is desirous of creating a peaceful and just world, it is achievable only by establishing the Islamic system of life. The Islamic code of life is more important in the human life than the sun and the moon. Under the disguise of Tasawuf (spirituality) or any other term, nobody has been successful so far to change the real teachings of Islam nor it is possible to do in the future. In fact Tasawuf (spirituality) is the second name of Islamic method of purifying the human soul which is also called the Qur’anic spirituality. In the Asian continent the people use the terms Namaz instead of Salah and Roza instead of Soum but under the shade of these terms nobody can change the real system of Salat and Soum. The elements who at the behest of the anti-Islamic forces tried to change the actual image of Islam failed utterly in their vicious designs and their position became extremely miserable. And if anybody else wants to meet the same fate he is free to do so. The basic sources of Islam-Quran and the traditions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) are guaranteed to be safe till the day of resurrection in their original form,” the statement explained.

“So far as the allegation of separatism against the people of Kashmir is concerned, it is baseless because they are struggling for the achievement of their basic right of ‘self-determination’ and all the attempts to crush this genuine and just movement of Kashmiris have miserably failed and by these suppressive tactics the Kashmir issue has come to the limelight and now the entire world knows that these people are not separatists but demanding their internationally accepted basic right of self-determination,” it added.

 Reacting to the reports of the New Delhi’s policy of “controlling the media, mosques and madrasas and providing special package to Shia Muslims, senior Hurriyat Conference (G) leader and president Anjuman Shari Shain Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi on Monday said that “Kashmir Freedom Movement” is not a sectarian or religious matter but it the issue of the whole population of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said Shia’s are the part and parcel of the Struggle.

In a statement issued to KNS, he said that,. “New Delhi has already started working on a policy especially aimed at dividing the Muslims of Jammu Kashmir.”

“Government of India has been hatching conspiracies to divided people on sectarian lines, but we want to remind it that this freedom struggle is not a religious or sectarian one but all people irrespective of caste, colour, sect, religion have been supporting this Movement,” he said.

“Muslims should identify themselves as Muslims alone. This only can help Muslim Ummah to remain united and face all sorts of aggression aimed at diving Muslims and sabotaging the genuine freedom struggle. Martyrs sacrificing for our freedom never lay down their lives for any particular sect, or thought so it is our utmost responsibility to uphold and honour these great sacrifices by remaining united,” Aga Hasan said.

He said that there is no doubt that Shia Muslims in Kashmir are downtrodden but at the same time they always supported the freedom struggle. “Shia Muslims are ardent supporters of Kashmir Freedom Struggle. Ministry of Home Affairs Government of India is trying to create a wedge between Muslims here. We can’t forget that same Government of India is not allowing us to carry out Ashura processions. There is so many leaders from Shia community who are spearheading this Kashmir Movement,” he said and added that the sinister motives of Government of India to lure us with packages will always fail,” he said.
