SRINAGAR: In addition to general awareness regarding road safety, a blood donation camp was organized by Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir here today as a part of ongoing 28th Road Safety Week.
The camp was held at Parimpora Srinagar with the support of CMO Srinagar, JLNM Hospital, We Volunteers, Noora Hospital and Alhabib Foundation.
According to a statement of RTO, the move was widely appreciated and a good number of people came forward for donating blood, notable among them a volunteer, Shabir Hussain, who has donated blood more than 150 times.
Meanwhile, continuing with its efforts in creating traffic awareness with regard to 28th Road Safety week, Traffic Police City Srinagar today organized a workshop at Batmaloo Bus Terminal in which public service vehicle drivers, conductors, mechanics, vendors, hawkers, automobile dealers etc were made aware of traffic laws and norms.
The workshop was organized under the aegis of Kashmir Motor Association, an amalgam of all public transport services operators. On the occasion traffic awareness publicity material was distributed among the general public.
