Srinagar: Though the government announced dates for screening tests of Rehbar-e-Taleems (ReT), the forum on Thursday said that they will not appear in the tests as all the teachers working in different schools are having degrees of recognized universities.
However, they said that government must hold screening tests of those having degrees of unrecognized universities.
Talking to KNS, Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar-e-Taleem Teachers Forum (JKReTTF), Chairman Farooq Ahmad Tantray said that by announcing such decisions, the state government is forcing them to take streets.
“We are being forced to hit streets again. State administration must reconsider their decision of holding screening tests of ReTs as it against the aspiration of teacher community,” Tantray said.
He added that “The government failed to search out a single fake degree certificate of RET teachers thereby came up with another decision of holding screening tests, which is unfortunate.”
Tantray said that such decision of government won’t help them in providing quality education. “They (Government) must take some good steps over providing quality education to the students, which will accommodate the aspirations of teachers and students as well,” he said.
He said that the teachers having degrees of recognized universities will not appear in the screening tests. “I believe that the ReTs working in different schools are not having fake degrees,” he said.
Pertinently, “In continuation to the Government Order No: 184-Edu of 2016 dated: 24-05-2016, it is hereby ordered that the Screening Test of the RETs shall be held in Jammu and Srinagar on 24 December 2016,” the government had said on Tuesday. (KNS)
