Srinagar: Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has sanctioned Rs 5 lakh to the Government G B Panth Children’s Hospital Srinagar for purchase of life-saving medicines like immunoglobulin for neonates and children suffering from life threatening diseases.
The assistance out of the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund was released to G B Panth Children’s Hospital which is the only tertiary care hospital in Kashmir that caters to the pediatric healthcare services from whole of Kashmir valley and some parts of Jammu and Ladakh region.
Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar had requested for financial support for procurement of these drugs as some families who turn up for treatment of their children cannot afford cost of medicines and other treatment procedures.
The funds released as financial assistance from time to time has helped the Hospital to attend to the poor patients in distress who are unable to afford the treatment and costly life-saving drugs. (PTK)
