Bandipora: Massive Protest and clashes erupted in north Kashmir's Bandipora on Friday after the government forces tried to break up a pro-freedom rally. At least a dozen persons were injured in day long clashes.
Reports came after the culmination of Friday prayers a large number of people including women and children marched from Jamia Masjid towards Nowpora Chowk. However police and CRPF stooped the rally at Nowpora and lobbed dozens of tear smoke shells to quell protests. This triggered massive clashes, in which a dozen of protesters were injured who were referred to District Hospital.

Eyewitness said many women fainted on roads as there was stampede after the forces fired on peaceful protest march.
Reports came that the people of Khyar, Lawaypora, Pazalpora, Mantrigam and other adjoining areas of district carried out a protest rally and marched towards Sonerwani where a group of youths pelted stones on the office of Border Roads Organisation (BRO). However, Army of 14 RR intercepted the protesters and lobbed tear shells and pepper gas to quell protests.
