SRINAGAR: The State Government today disallowed the congregational Friday prayers at historic Dargah Hazratbal, first time in past six years
The move by Ms Mehbooba Mufti led government was taken in view of the ‘Dargah Chalo’ call by united resistance leadership.
“There was no congregational Friday prayers in Dargah Sharief,” a resident living in the vicinity of Dargah said.
Government has imposed strict curfew across Kashmir to ban any such movement towards Dargah Hazratbal. Forces were deployed in huge numbers in and around the revered shrine.
“We were not allowed to take out cameras to cover the siege of famous shrine,” a Video Journalist working with a mainland India based TV channel said.
