Youth On Motor Cycle Shot At In Nawab Bazar

Srinagar: A motorcycle-borne youth survived miraculously Thursday afternoon in Nawab Bazar area of the Old City after a bullet fired by a paramilitary CRPF soldier at him missed the target and hit the wheel of his vehicle instead.

“The youth, whose identity could  not be ascertained, was riding towards the SMHS hospital around 3:00 PM, when a trooper fired a single shot at him,” reports quoting witnesses said.

The bullet burst the tire of the motorbike and the youth fell down after losing balance. He was removed by locals to the nearby SMHS hospital  in an injured condition. The incident according to reports triggered protests in the area and there was heated exchange of words between CRPF and police personnel.
