Geelani, Mirwaiz Barred From Visiting Martyrs Graveyard

Srinagar: Police on Wednesday arrested Hurriyat(G) Chairman Syed Ali Geelani when he tried to take out rally towards martyrs graveyard.

As Geelani ventured out of his home along with dozens of other Hurriyat leaders and activists, a large police posse deployed outside his house detained him to stop him from proceeding.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was detained by police outside his Nigeen residence when he defied the restrictions to lead a procession towards martyrsÂ’ graveyard in downtown Srinagar.
