CM Sends Ministers to Districts to reach out to people


SRINAGAR: After Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti asked her MLAs to reach out to people, he senior cabinet colleagues are camping in various districts of valley.

Sources in government said that PWD Minister, Ab Rehman Veeri is camping in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district while Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb A Drabu is monitoring situation in Pulwama.

Education Minister Naeem Akhtar is in Ganderbal district while Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura is camping in Budgam district.

Revenue Minister, who represents Sangraa constitueny is camping in Baramulla. CAPD Minister Choudhary Zulfikar is in Shopian while MoS Syed Farooq Andrabi is stationed in Kulgam district.

Kashmir has witnessed large scale violence since killing of militant commander Burhan Wani as at least 34 civilians have been killed while over a thousand people have been injured in bullet and pellet firing.

Burhan, along with two of his associates was killed in Kokernag area of South Kashmir on last Friday evening. Kashmir has witnessed complete shutdown since then and government has clamped down with strict curfew, however, people have defied restrictions and clashes have been taking place. Majority of the casualties have been reported from South Kashmir while one has been killed in Srinagar and two youths fell to forces bullets in North.
