Chenab Valley observes shutdown

DODA:  There were sporadic protests in the Chenab Valley which also observed a complete shutdown on Monday against the killings in Kashmir Valley.

Reports said that a complete shutdown was observed in Doda, Bhalesa, Kishtwar, Ramban, Banihal, Bhadarwah, Thathri and Gandoh areas of Chenab Valley.

All commercial establishments and educational institutions in these places remained closed while traffic was completely off the roads. Government offices witnessed very thin attendance of employees.

The J&K government had made elaborate security arrangements to maintain law and order in these areas. The strike according to reports was spontaneous as no organization had called for the shutdown.
