Govt Forces Barge In Lolab Hospital, Damage Machinery Take Away Cash

Srinagar: Police and Para military CRPF on Sunday allegedly damaged machinery and decamped with cash in a hospital at Lolab in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

“Para military CPRF and SOG went on a rampage inside the hospital at Lalpora and damaged X Ray machine and Seven Solar Panels”, said a senior doctor who wished not to be named.

Besides causing damage to the machinery, doctor said the govt forces also took away Rs 50,000 which was in the hospital chest on account of ticket and other fees collected in hospital.

The doctor said that forces asked them for reasons to treat injured protesters.

When contacted DSP Sogam Hilal Khaliq told news agency GNS that some members of hospital staff were providing shelter to the stone pelters.

“As joint team of Police and CRPF went inside the hospital to arrest some stone pelters, they attacked the joint team as a result of which there was damage to hospital machinery” DSP said.

He also denied the allegation of taking away the cash.
