Srinagar: Close on the heels of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti throwing open Tsoamaidan  meadows for tourists and locals, the Tourism Department sponsored trekking tour of 30 non-local education volunteers concluded today.

Director Tourism Kashmir, Mahmood A.Shah, said the tour started on Sunday from TRC Srinagar and concluded after the group returned today from Tosamaidan.

He said this was the first group of trekkers who witnessed the splendid beauty of meadows there, after it was thrown open for public.

He said similar trekking expeditions would be organized in coming days to harness Tosamaidan’s tourism potential

Shah said as per the directions of CM, the Department would develop Kothas at the destination and remodel them, so that visitors can stay there.

“The department is engaging this spot actively to promote it among nature and adventure lovers. We will organize tours for students and adventure lovers so that they can further promote this destination,” he added.
