SRINAGAR: Rather XI edged past Star XI Narkara by three wickets in their Budgam Premier League played at Sheikhpora Stadium Budgam on Friday.
Rather XI and Star XI Narkara were involved in the morning fixture of the day with the latter opting to bat first. Star XI managed a decent total of 145 on the board. Rather XI were meticulous in the chase, achieving the required target of 146 in 19.2 overs with three wickets in hand.
Middle order batsman Gulzar Ahmad was the star in the chase slamming a 26-ball 52 to walk away with the man of the match award.
The second match of the day was played between Syed Hyderpora and Green Ages Nishat which the former won comfortably.
Batting first Green Ages team was shot out for 126.They even failed to play their full quota of 20 overs with their last batsman dismissed in the 19th over.
In reply Syed Hyderpora achieved the target of 126 comfortably in just 16 overs. Umar Ahmad for his knock of 75 runs was adjudged man of the match.
