All-rounder Auqib steers Wonder Boys to next round

SRINAGAR: Wonder Boys Nambal thumped Katriteng Sports by nine wickets in the league fixture of Late GM Gilkar Memorial T-20 Cricket tournament played at Boys Higher Secondary School Bijbehara on Friday.

It was a lopsided affair as Wonder Boys overpowered Katriteng Sports in all three departments of the game. 

Katriteng Sports had a good outing with the bat putting a decent total of 150 on the board thanks to middle order batsman Majid who hit a 32-ball 54. Abid muscled 28 from 16 giving their bowlers something to bowl at. Aqib was the pick of the bowlers for the fielding side claiming two wickets in his four over spell.

Auqib then showed his class with the bat in the hand powering his side to a match winning opening stand. He was all power and placement hitting a 32-ball 52. He found an able ally in Shakeel Ahmad playing sensibly to contribute 28. 

Auqib for his all-round performance was declared man of the match.

UCC Chitragam had better off BSM Mattan winning their league fixture by three wickets. 

Batting first BSM Mattan were bundled out for 135. Amir with 62 runs was the successful batsman for BSM team. In reply UCC Chitragam achieved the required target comfortably inside 18 overs with three wickets in hand.

Inam-Ul–Haq for his four wicket haul was adjudged man of the match. The tournament is organized by Bijbehara Cricket Organisation.
