Srinagar: During a thirty minute blaze, thirteen houses were gutted in Noorbagh area of Srinagar city on Tuesday afternoon, Fire and Emergency official said.
The fire according to official was caused due to short circuit in Shaheen Mohalla Noorbagh. All but 10 fire tenders were pressed into service and it took nearly thirty minutes to control the fire, the official told CNS.
A police official said that a case has been registered and prima facie it appears that fire was caused due to short circuit.
An official from administration said that property worth lakhs have been gutted. All arrangements to aid and relocate the victims have been made. We are on job, he said.
Police identified the victim house owners as Sanaullah Sheikh, Farooq Ahmed, Mehrajuddin, Abdul Rehman, Ghulam Muhammad, Ali Muhammad, Nazir Ahmed, Ghulam Muhammad, Muhammad Ramzan and Abdul Jabar.
