Srinagar: Director Entrepreneur Development Institute (EDI) Dr Muhammad Ismail Parrey Tuesday said that officials and young entrepreneurs need not to worry as all the data is safe even after the massive gun fight. He however said that the gun fight has caused great loss to the building that is in cores.
This modern building had been constructed at a cost of Rs 17 crore and it will need more than Rs 5 crore for its renovation. There is complete mess over here. The top storey has suffered much loss, he said.
He added that data servers which were kept on the fourth floor have suffered some damages but due to digitalization of the data, it is safe and there is no need to worry on that account, he said.
He said that it will take more than a week to resume normal work in the office. The troopers are still sensitizing the building and there are apprehensions that explosive materials may be present there. Only after sensitizing the whole area and the building, proper assessment of losses will be made, he said.
Responding to a question, Director EDI said that the gardener Abdul Gani who died there was not the permanent employee but we all have decided to donate one days salary towards his family.
