SRINAGAR: Advisor to the Governor, Khurshid Ahmed Ganai Wednesday urged officers to ensure punctuality in attending offices and asked them to be present in their places of postings to ensure redress of public grievances.
The Advisor while reviewing the functioning and performance of various departments in a meeting held at Srinagar here, asked officers to conduct regular field visits to gain firsthand knowledge about the implementation status of schemes besides receiving on spot feedback from the public.
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr. Asgar Samoon was also present in the meeting.
Advisor stressed on officers to ensure better delivery of services to the people. He asked PHE department to ensure that water treatment plants and filtration plants are functioning properly and potable water is supplied to people. He also asked State Pollution Control Board to keep track of the pollution in Srinagar and Jammu cities.
Meanwhile, the Advisor also took stock of the progress of Jhelum dredging work and inspected various dredging spots at Noorbagh, Qamarwari, Bemina, and Mehjoor Nagar. He was accompanied by Chief Engineers of I&FC, R&B and other concerned officers.
He asked officers to expedite dredging of river Jhelum and flood spill channel so that carrying capacity is increased to prevent floods in future.
