SRINAGAR: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has felicitated veteran journalist and son of the soil Jawahar Lal Kaul for being conferred with Padam Shri -the highest civilian award of India on the 66th Republic Day.
In a statement to CNS the BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir hailed Kaul for his services in the field of journalism.
The BJP spokesman said that as a journalist Kaul covered varied fields in his 40 year career. He (Kaul) started his career from Times of India as a working journalist. He attained his superannuation from Indian Express Group of newspapers in 2000 as senior Assistant Editor.
He was awarded the Padam Shri for his contribution in the field of journalism, Jehangir added.
He said Kaul has been an inspiration for young journalists and deserved the highest civilian award. (CNS)
BJP and MRM hoisted tricolor in Sgr & Handwara
SRINAGAR: Bhartiya Janata Party and one of its organ Tuesday said that it organized flag hoisting ceremonies in Summer Capital and in North Kashmirs Handwara town.
BJP media in charge Altaf Thakur in a statement to media said that party activists hoisted Indian tri-color at their party office in Jawahar Nagar.
