SRINAGAR: Police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered prescription drugs from them.
On a tip off, a police party of Police Station Sumbal during Naka checking at Guzar Mohallah Shilwath Bandipora intercepted a Scorpio vehicle bearing registration number JK01U/9214. On its checking police recovered 49 bottles of codeine phosphate. Four peddlers who were carrying these drugs were taken into custody. The arrested peddlers have been identified as Ali Mohammad Sofi Son-in-Law of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi, Islam Mallah son of Jameel, Haroon son of Abbass residents of Mundi Gaddi Haryana at present Delhi and driver of the vehicle Mohammad Ramzan son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Nesbal Sumbal.
Sumbal police has registered a case FIR number 16/16 under section 08/21 NDPS Act and investigation has been taken up.
