POONCH: The people from Chenanseer area in Sarankot tehsil of district Poonch held protest demonstration outside the office of Tehsildar in the town here today.
The people hailing from this area assembled outside the office of Tehsildar and accused Naib Tehsildar Abdul Rashid of fraud. They alleged that BPL lists prepared recently were not fair and majority of the members included were the relatives and the favourites of politicians and Naib Tehsildar himself. A local Ahmed Din son of Muhammad Ramzan has been living from hand to mouth and even he has been ignored despite the fact he is too poor to take care of his family, a protester told CNS.
They alleged that many genuine poor people have been let off.
These people demanded that lists be canceled and reviewed again so that genuine families could be included.
Refuting the allegations Naib Tehsildar Abdul Rashid said that the list has been prepared with the consultation of Sarpanchs and Village Level Workers. (CNS)
