I have written this literary piece in connection with the news published in almost all the newspapers in which we saw the seriousness of Japan towards the educational system. In that news as per the reports, two trains Stop at Shirataki station of Japan just for only a single school going girl passenger, so that she gets her education. This story depicts the seriousness of Japan towards its educational system and other co-allied agencies helping them in achieving this milestone. According to reports, every day only two trains stop at the Kami-Shirataki station of Japan just to pick up only a single school going girl passenger, so that she can get the education. The Train arrives daily at 7:04 AM to collect its only single passenger (School Girl) and returns again at 5:08 PM to bring her home. As per the reports, the railway company had initially planned to close the station Three years ago because of the lack of demand. However, after it realized the school girl relied on it everyday,it decided to maintain and continue the service until she finishes school. The Japanese train company has been praised for its commitment to customer services after it emerged that it arrives every morning and evening at the Remote Kami-Shirataki Station to ensure the teenager makes it to class. The girl is expected to finish her school on March 26, 2016,when the station will then be closed.
But in comparison to this, have a look on our educational system in India. Is India so serious about education of its citizens especially children? The answer is a big No. Here in India and more especially in J&K, ,the education of children is not been taken so seriously by government. India leads in indicators o ncorruption, murders, rape, bad politics, as well as education.
In terms of the state of Jammu and Kashmir, according to one estimate there are around 2-2.5 lakh children below the age of 12 years in J&K, who are working as labourers and hence are deprived from getting education. Government is not giving any sort of attention towards their education. doubt our government has passed so many resolutions and made some laws against child labouring but it is just limited to papers and not in actual use. And if we talk about child labourers on national level, then the number of such children is enormous. Here, government as well as non-governmental agencies are not showing any seriousness towards the education of its citizens especially children. The need of the hour is take serious steps for the welfare of children, otherwise the dream of universalization of elementary education will always be a dream for India. The government should introduce more and more number of educational schemes and facilities and also open more schools in remote areas, so that the children will not be deprived from the basic right of education. Why countries like Japan, USA, Russia, and China are so much developed and modernized? It is because the governments of these countries are concentrating more on their educational system which in turn is giving them positive results in the path of development and technology. At the end, i would like put my point here that if India will too show seriousness towards the education of all its citizens, then that day is not far away when India too will be a developed one in each and every field.
