Grenade hurled at Police Station Khanyar

Srinagar: Suspected militants on Thursday evening hurled a grenade towards police station Khanyar in old city of Srinagar district.

A police official said that militants at around 6:45 pm attacked the police station with a grenade. However, the device missed the intended target and exploded near the premises of the police station.

However, no one was reported injured, the official said.

Meanwhile, police and CRPF launched searches in the whole area to trace the grenade thrower. So far no one has been arrested when this report was filed.
