Daughter Dies, Mother Critical
ANANTNAG: A young lady died and her mother is battling for her life after the duo decided to end their lives in a village in Anantnag on Monday.
Both mother and daughter from Dooru village consumed some poisonous substance to end their lives, police said.
They identified the woman as Naseema Banoo w/o Gh Hassan Wagay and her daughter Khalida w/o Manzoor Ahmad Lone resident of Nowgam, falling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dooru.
Both mother and daughter were immediately shifted to the District Hospital Anantnag where the daughter breathed her last.
When asked for the motive behind the extreme step police had no clue. “It is not immediately clear why they took this extreme step,” a police officer said.
He however said, We have registered a case under FIR No 69/2015 and initiated investigation to ascertain the circumstance which forced them to attempt suicide.
