Release Asiya or face protests: DeM

Srinagar:  Dukhtaran-e-Millat Wednesday protested what it termed the ‘releasing and arresting drama’ of its incarcerated chairperson Asiya Andrabi, terming it highly condemnable.

Addressing media men in Press Enclave Srinagar, General Secretary DeM, Nahida Nasreen said that they fail to understand on what charges the PDP led government has been arresting Andrabi after every alternate day. “This is harassment and nothing else. When we seek answers from the authorities about the reasons of her arrest, they simply evade our query and do not respond,” she said.

She  said that PDP led government is harassing pro-freedom people, detaining them in jails and forcing them to leave JK. It slapped PSA on Asiya Andrabi for multiple times. The court quashed her detention orders under PSA and issued release orders in her favour but each time she was rearrested. Since August this year, the authorities started releasing and arresting drama and one day she is released, the next day’s put into jail.
