Shopian: The historic Mughal road, which had been closed due to heavy rains and snowfall, has finally opened after a gap of five days here in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, due to heavy rains, landslides and shooting stones were triggered in Ramsoo and Magarkote areas of the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Ramban district which contributed heavily into the closure of the highway
The Mughal Road lies between Bafliaz, in Poonch district, to Shopian district in the Kashmir valley.
The road is 84 km long and passes over Pir Panjal Mountain range, bringing Poonch and Rajouri district closer to Srinagar.
