SRINAGAR:Tavera Driver Thrashed Near Pantha ChowkPolice on Monday allegedly thrashed a driver of Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience, Badamwari.
Mushtaq Ahmad (40) from Shalimar alleged that a cop directing traffic near busy Panta Chowk route slapped him for “no reason.”
“There was a beeline of traffic and I was just asking the cop what was the reason,” he said.
When  contacted the Police Station Pantha Chowk, the official speaking on the other end of line expressed ignorance about the incident. “These Tavera drivers have no civic sense at first place,” he said.
“They drive recklessly, often flouting the traffic norms with impunity resulting in accidents. They don’t even follow the queue and are always in a rush to overtake traffic ahead of them,” he added.
