Srinagar: Kashmiri Pandit Sangarsh Samiti has said that it is going to organize a special Dussehra, festival in Summer Capital Srinagar on October 22 (Thursday).
The spokesperson of the organization stated that the Dussehra, function will be held at Polo Ground, Srinagar around 5:30 PM.
This function was restarted by the Samiti from 2007 and has been an ongoing process since then. It has been always supported by majority community and has been an epitome of Pandit-Muslim unity, the statement reads.
Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is one of the most important Hindu festivals celebrated in various forms, across India and it is observed to celebrate Lord Rama’s victory over the mythical ten-headed king Ravana of Lanka.
