Army jawan kills 4, self

Sangrur: In a family dispute, an army man shot dead four people, including two women, and injured as many at Hasanpur village under Dhuri tehsil in this district today.

Army jawan Jagdeep Singh alias Jaggu, who was on leave, later committed suicide by shooting himself.

Jagdeep opened fire indiscriminately from his 12 bore licensed gun and killed his sister-in-law Gurpreet Kaur, aunt Labh Kaur and her son Harmandeep Singh and one Karnail Kaur.

Harjinder Singh, counsil of the soldier, and neighbourers Navinder Singh, Gurmeet Kaur and Tarsem Singh were seriously injured in the firing. They were rushed to Government hospital at Dhuri and later referred to Patiala hospital.
