SRINAGAR: Scores of students pursuing B.Ed courses Saturday staged a protest against the University decision to extend the duration of the courses from one to two years.
The protesting student carrying placards and banners appeared in Press Enclave here. They said that notification with regard to the extension of duration of courses issued by University is not applicable on them as they were admitted before the issuance of this notification.
The students said applications for the said course were issued in December 2014 and the course for in-service teachers started from April this year.
We have completed more than 60 percent of the syllabus as well, they said and appealed University authorities to have a re-look over their decision.
