Poonch: an Army patrol today recovered the body of a militant who was killed on Wednesday along the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati Sector of Mendhar area of the Poonch district while trying to infiltrate into this side.
The army troopers recovered the body and took it in its possession. However the identity of the militant could not be ascertained. A trooper of armys elite Para was also killed yesterday by militants. The post-mortem of both slain militant and the trooper was also conducted.
The forces recovered an AK 47 rifle, one magazine, bullet rounds, one grenade along with a pin and a pouch from militants possession. Besides the forces also recovered some eatables from the dead militants possession.
In the meanwhile, the army continued search operation in the area as it suspected the presence of militants. The entire area has been cordoned off and a strict vigil is being maintained, the defence sources said.
