SRINAGAR: Minister of State for Revenue , Mr. Sunil Sharma informed the House that 53 kanals and 7 marlas of land have been leased out in Pahalgam market. He said no land has been allotted under J&K State Lands (Vesting of Ownership to the Occupants) Act 2001 in Patwar Halqa Laripora and Nunwan of tehsil Pahalgam.
This was stated by the Minister in reply to a question by Mr. Mohammad Altaf Wani here today. He said the land allotted under Government Order No: 60-C of 1944 is under the possession of allottees and the persons who have purchased it from the principal allottees.
The Minister said that however, the land allotted under the said government order is mostly vacant, while some owners have raised constructions. He said the land has been allotted in exchange of the land which was taken by Government from the said allottees for development of Pahalgam.
