ANANTNAG: On the instructions of Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed to start cleanliness drives at tourist spots across the state, the Deputy Commissioner Anantnag today kick started the week long cleanliness drive here at the Mughal Gardens of Verinag, Kokernag and Achabal.
The Deputy Commissioner visited the Mughal gardens of Verinag, Kokernag and Achabal and participated in the cleanliness drive at these places to take forward the Swach Bharat Abhiyan in the district. Besides common people, the drive was attended by ADC Anantnag, SDM Dooru, CEO Kokernag, representatives of NGOs and officers of the municipal committees.
Starting the cleanliness drive at Verinag, the Deputy Commissioner directed officials of the concerned municipality to make Verinag garden and its peripheries clean and beautiful so that not only locals but tourists from across the world visit the place.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of the municipalities of these areas to take concrete measures to make the Mughal gardens litter-free and take forward the cleanliness drive and include all the educational and heath institutes in the cleanliness drive across the district.
