Srinagar: The kin of pro-freedom activists Monday alleged that pro-government gunmen and other notorious criminals assaulted their relatives lodged in Baramulla jail claiming they were facing a life threat.
They were assaulted by these goons and were threatened by them, local news agency GNS quoted the family members as having said. Qayoom Tantray, a renegade and Bashir Lone (who was involved in Machil fake encounter) along with other criminals lodged under NDPS Act attacked the pro-resistance inmates inside the jail.
The pro-freedom activists lodged in the Jail are facing constant life threat from these notorious elements, they added. These criminals should be immediately shifted from Baramulla jail.
We will look into the matter and necessary action will be taken if reports were true, GNS quoted a senior police officer.
