Family members seek action against erring driver
SRINAGAR: Family members of the Budgam youth killed in a road accident Monday accused that police didnt initiate any action against the driver allegedly
On September 7 this month, Tata Mobile (JK04B-9887) driven by one Irshad Ahmed Dar hit a motor cycle (JK04A-4766) and the two seventh class students riding on motor cycle received critical injuries near Soresh Khag, the family members told a local news agency here. One student, Ishfaq Nabi Rather, died on the way to hospital while the other Nisar Hasan Teli is battling for life at SKIMS. They said and alleged instead of putting the erring driver behind the bar he was released only after a day.
They alleged that one of the police man who happens to be the relative of the driver helped him to play with the law. We appeal to Director General and Inspector General of Police to personally look into the matter, they said.
When contacted a police official said that a formal FIR vide number 72/2015 under section 279, 33 RPC stands registered against the driver. We have filed a case and to punish or release the accused is the job of the court, he said.
