Last chance for Ex-RAW officer to be in court
SRINAGAR: In a defamation suit filed by Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Liberation Party Chairman, Hashim Qureshi against R. K. Yadav, former RAW officer and author of the book, ‘Mission R&AW’, and the publisher of the book, Court of Additional District and Sessions judge, Srinagar Saturday directed the author to remain personally present on the next date of hearing.
Qureshi had filed a suit last October against the former officer and author of the book, ‘Mission R&AW’ including its publisher.
The book suggests Qureshi was a part of the RAW plan wherein he was tasked with hijacking of Fokker Friendship Plane of Indian Airlines in 1971. The hijacking, according to many defence experts, was a precursor to the 1971 war in which East Pakistan got severed from Pakistan to emerge as Bangladesh.
