Kashmiri footballer gets German coaching course invite

SRINAGAR: The State’s first and only international football coach Sajid Yousuf Dar has been selected by German Football Association to attend a 3-week course of the coaches at Hennef, Germany. The course will start from 7th September 2015.

The governing body of the game “All India Football Federation” had recommended Sajid’s name for the course. 

Sajid who is working as football coach at the University of Kashmir has already made his mark in many National and International tournaments and Coach Education Programmes. He is considered as one of the talented coach in the country. After working as Head Coach for various age groups, AIFF appointed him as a Technical Advisor for women’s football in the country. 

Sajid hails from a family which has produced footballers of national and international repute. His father Mohammad Yousuf Dar is still being considered as one of the great legends of the game the State has ever produced. His younger brother Majid is a qualified Sports Manager who has participated in many international events.

Sajid said that this course is definitely going to help him to enhance his coaching knowledge and skills. “During the course I will get a chance to interact with many renowned personalities from all over the world,” he said. “It’s a great honour to be in Germany which is the current world champions of the game.”
