CS reviews progress of fast-track recruitment
SRINAGAR: To ensure absolute referral of all existing vacancies to the Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Services Selection Board (SSB), Chief Secretary, Iqbal Khandey, Thursday reviewed the department-wise status of vacancies with the concerned Administrative Secretaries here.
This is the 3rd review in the series of meetings, Chief Secretary chaired this month with the Administrative Secretaries to fast-track the implementation of the New Recruitment Policy.
Under the new recruitment policy announced by the Government, Chief Secretary had asked all departments to ensure that available vacancies are referred to the PSC and SSB before end of August 2015.
“Now that vacancies have been referred to the 20 member SSB, it has a period of three months within which to complete the recruitment process against thousands of posts referred to it, Khandey said.
He said PSC has also been asked to fast track the recruitment process against Gazetted posts referred to it, by various departments.
Khandey also asked the administrative secretaries to come up with all the data regarding latest position of vacancies in semi-government departments and corporations so that a mechanism could be worked out to fill all such vacancies.
