Jammu: The AIIMS Coordination Committee, demanding AIIMS in Jammu, has given a call for three-day Jammu bandh from July 31. Meanwhile, the lawyers have suspended their work from Friday here. The decision was taken in a meeting of the committee attended by its groups affiliated to it, including Bar Association Jammu and Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Jammu.
It will be third bandh observed on the AIIMS issue.
“The BJP, having failed to honour its commitment, has forced us to give call for bandh. The party which had got huge mandate in the Jammu could have averted the situation and the blame lies squarely on it,” said BAJ president Abhinav Sharma, who is also chairman of the Coordination Committee, an umbrella organisation of many non-political groups.
The committee has also decided to hold Lalkar rally in the Jammu city on Saturday morning and a candle light protest march before July 30. Abhinav Sharma said the BJP will face the wrath of people who had reposed faith in it as the party always assumed to be vanguard of the Jammu region.
