Say scandal will get expose once the probe is conducted
Srinagar: Scores of traders of central Kashmirs Budgam district on Thursday staged demonstrations in this capital city against the alleged bungling in the distribution of relief among the flood hit victims by the government.
The traders of Baghat Kanipora, Aribagh, Shankerpora, Khos Bagh, Wanabal and other areas of Budgam district assembled at Lal Chowks Press Colony this afternoon and staged anti-government demonstrations. Chanting slogans, the protesting traders alleged that the government has left them high and dry, while non-deserving traders of the area in connivance with the revenue officials have fake documents and collected compensation for as many as three shops.
Some of us have two shops, but we did not get relief even for one. The patwari and other revenue officials are taking hefty bribes and processing the case of undeserving traders fraudulently, Fayaz Ahmed Dar, a protester said.
Mohammad Amin, another protesting trader said that the government should investigate the list of beneficiaries that was released ten days earlier. He said the scandal will get expose once the probe is conducted.
The relief is ether given to the influential or those who grease the palms of officials. The needs and deserving have been left at the mercy of Allah, he added.
Reports of protests against the alleged bungling in the relief to the flood hit victims has also been received from Shilwat area of Sumbal in north Kashmirs Bandipora district.
