Dangerous plan in offing to dislocate Muslims of Jammu division
SRINAGAR: Expressing deep concern and anguish over the incident of alleged land grab from the Muslim community in Udhampur, Hurriyat Conference (G) Monday asked the State government to fulfil its responsibility of protecting the Muslim minority in the region.
It warned of serious consequences if authorities remain mute spectators saying it will endanger the peace and stability of the entire state.
Hurriyat (G) said in a statement that after forming coalition with the PDP, the BJP is considering the Jammu division as its conquered area and alleged that its workers have started harassing the Muslims of this division.
Snatching of land from the Muslims of the Rambal area of the Udhampur district is not the first incident of its kind but since the BJP has come to the power in the state, they have started a movement against the Muslims of this region. A dangerous plan is in offing to dislocate the Muslim community of the Jammu division. Somewhere the Muslim land is declared as forest property and elsewhere they are being evacuated on other pretexts, the statement said.
This new situation has terrorized the Muslim population of the Jammu division and they consider themselves unsafe. An anti-Muslim atmosphere is prevailing in the administration, police departments and judiciary and if any Muslim officer is located in any of these departments, immediately a plan is made for his transfer, the statement alleged.
