KCSDS demands response
Srinagar: A Civil Society Group Kashmir Centre for Social and Development Studies has demanded an immediate response from the chief minister about the veracity of the statement made by the union home minister in the parliament about his commitment of 400 kanals of land for separate townships for Kashmiri pundits
According to a statement, in an emergency meeting held under the chairperson Prof Hameedah Nayeem, the members observed that the statement made by the chief minister in the recent Assembly session that no land had been committed for the said townships has been refuted by the union home minister.
This has challenged the credibility and position of the chief minister regarding his day to day statements and as such he owes an urgent explanation to the people of the state in order to clear the confusion thus created on the matter, Nayeem said.
KCSDS reiterated its stand to oppose fiercely any such move that is aimed at creating separated isolated islands of pandits to perpetuate the communal division and destroy age old co-existence between the communities.
