Srinagar: With weather improving and water levels receding in Jehlum and its tributaries authorities on Thursday decided to reopen schools in Kashmir valley from April 3. Director School Education, Showkat Ahmad Beigh said that schools in the valley shall resume functioning from Friday, April 3. Pertinently, the authorities on Sunday had decided to close all educational institutes up to 12th class in view of incessant rains and a flood-like situation in Srinagar and adjoining areas for Monday and Tuesday. Subsequently the schools were closed for two more days due to flood threat.
