JAMMU: The Government proposes to lay gas pipeline under the Central project of Bhatinda- Jammu- Srinagar gas pipeline. The Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution, Ch. Zulfkar Ali said this while replying to a question by Mr. Ajay Kumar Sadhotra in the Legislative Council here today.
With regard to acquisition of land for the project, the Minister said that proceedings for acquiring users rights have been initiated by Assistant Commissioner Revenue of Kathua and Samba districts. The Minister added that the process for land acquisition and required NOCs for the project will be hastened in due course of time.
The Minister said that the project is being implemented by GSPL India Gasnet Limited (GIGL) of Gujarat which is a consortium of oil companies and all expenses on laying of gas pipeline will be borne by them.
