26 yr old cricketer becomes latest victim
SRINAGAR: A 26-year-old resident of Tral (Pulwama) died due to suspected swine flu while five more tested positive for the deadly H1N1 virus in Kashmir Valley on Saturday.
According to the Medical Superintendent SMHS Hospital, Dr Nazir Chowdary the youth was admitted in the hospital last evening and died Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was suspected swine flu patient and was suffering from respiratory related disease, he said.
The deceased has been identified as Nasarullah Wani, son of police inspector Ghulam Nabi, resident of Devar Tral area of South Kashmirs Pulwama district.
A resident doctor said, Wani was suffering from H1N1 influenza and was put on life support system Friday evening. He died due to multiple organ failure today.
The deceased was MA. M.Ed in English and was a talented cricketer, a neighbour attending on him said.

Meanwhile, five more patients tested positive for H1N1 on Saturday, taking the number of those infected with the deadly virus to 382 in Kashmir Valley.
“45 patients were seen at the special OPD of the SKIMS hospital today out of which samples of 8 were taken for testing,” said SKIMS PRO.
She said the two patients of swine flu patients were admitted at the isolation ward of the hospital.
