Anantnag – Anantnag Police arrested a peddler in Bijbehara area last evening and recovered large quantity of contraband from him.
Last evening, on a tip off a police party of police station Bijbehara laid a Naka at Takiabal. During the Naka checking the police party intercepted a peddler Manzoor Ahamd Bhat son of Reshi Bhat resident of Takibal Bijbehara and recovered about 1.5 kg of cannabis powder from his possession.
Further questioning led to the recovery of 8 Kgs cannabis straw at his instance.
Bijbehara police has registered a case under section 8/20 NDPS Act in this regard and further investigation
has been taken up.
