Srinagar: Three people were injured when a bear attacked them in Jagerpora village of north Kashmirs Kupwara district, a police official said Tuesday. A black bear ventured into Khanpora Jagerpora from nearby forest area this morning and attacked a group of people. In the surprise attack, three people identified as Ateeqa Begum, Mohammad Shabir Lone and Mushtaq Ahmad were injured. The locals chased the beast towards the forests and rushed the injured to the nearby hospital. From there, the injured were referred to SKIMS Soura in a serious condition, the official added.
Pertinently, two children were mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs in Lachipora area of Handwara town on Monday. (GNS)
